Ford Mustang LX Reviews and Owner Comments

The Fox Body Mustang is a small car that could be had with a big engine in its day. It remains a popular enthusiast's car today given the large number of aftermarket and performance parts that are available for Fox Mustangs. There was a big difference in the "seat-of-the-pants" acceleration between the automatic overdrive and the T-5 transmission models. The T-5 offering a lot more efficient delivery of engine power to the rear wheels. The biggest drawback of the Fox Mustang was a weak unibody that flexed way too much and plagued the car with squeaks and rattles due to its stiff suspension. The front seat frames were poorly constructed by Ford with most becoming broken over the years. The powertrains in the Fox Mustangs were fairly durable taking plenty of abuse from spirited drivers. Unmodified cars are hard to find today, with most not being worth the time or effort to restore.
it has a four Barrol Carb., a ultra flow muffler, 1000 watt nitro amp and two ten inch blau subs. 2.3 ford motor, MSD Ignition and a sick spoiler later a nice hood sboop
i bought this car about two months ago and it is a dream, of course i'm coming off of driving a 1971 VW Beetle, so it could just be me. I love the ease of engine mods (I've already snaked on a cold air intake and custom made straight pipe exhaust) Interior is clean and all the features work perfect, I wish it had disk brakes all around though
The car has a stiff feel when you drive it. The steering wheel and car respond well to each other, but the connection feels stiff. The power of this 4 cylinder surprised me. It is fuel injected and has eight spark plugs to burn the fuel well. the interior material is cheap to say the least, and the dash is Spartan and has NO frills. I guess you might say it reminds you of cars of the past like the Nash Rambler. It could have been a great car, but Ford got cheap like all US manufacturers and stiffed buyers to the max. Too bad, this car is fun to drive and I like it anyway. I have the LX convertible.
