turbo charger has leaked oil on cv and there was smoke coming from tail pipe. It stopped once but it started again, also there is a noise rattleing coming from it. need to repair or replace

Doen't even try to start.

I had some work done on my 2000 V40 and need to get the emissions passed and every time they hook up the test equipment, it says not ready.

The check engine light comes on and off about every 5 to 7 days. During the week I only drive 14 mi a day. When I drive on weekend @ interstate speeds, check engine light will go off. When I run the code--it says--catalyst system, right bank, underperformance. What is this? and a estimate of repair would be helpful?
car has 185000 miles on it. it gets regular maitenence.

My car is 2000 V40 with 163000 miles and is suffering the bad a/c compressor clutch/pulley issue. Because the pulley of compressor won't spin any more, I got rubber-like smoke from it and actually the drive belt fell out from the whole belt/pulley system. I have several questions:

1) is it possible that I just change the pulley and/or clutch without removing/replacing the whole a/c compressor?

2) If I cannot just replace the pulley, can I use a bypass pulley to replace the a/c compressor? (sure, I won't have any cold air) I looked for some time online but haven't found the right part for volvo yet...

3) If there is no such bypass pulley, can I use a shorter drive belt to bypass the a/c compressor?

Any ideals?

Thanks!

Han

Okay I have a 2000v40 1.9t and I need to change the map sensor. Can someone tell where it is at? I have surfed the web, without success, and need a detailed description of its location. Volvo parts are expensive enough and I do all the labor, but I am strictly an amateur so all the technical terms are wasted on me. One site claimed it was on top of the manifold, another under the air filter!!! Help Me and pics are great!

CHECK ENG LITE COMES ON checked codes and comes up with cam position accuator b bank 1 timing over advance also has other code that reads over retard

Where can I download instructions on how to replace a timing belt on a V40 volvo

My heater blows out cold air. It has a new thermostat. The engine temperature reads fine. The thermostat was not installed at Volvo. So, I don't know if it needs to be reprogrammed. Or, if it is something else. The repair guy (not a Volvo dealer) said that the discharge temperature was hot enough. But it seems that the air conditioner is overriding it.
