I can see where coolant is leaking from two hoses and took it in to be serviced. The est. came back at just over $900 to repair the Gasket-Thermostat, hoses, and coolant system service w/ extended life. Is this all necessary. I guess what I'm asking, does the gasket/thermostat need to be replaced if the collant is leaking from the hoses?

I was at a redlight and about to make a turn and the car just shut off. I did not see any warning lights on just the oil light/ car did come back on/ what should I do? It had never done that before

Hey everyone I've recently been having some issues with my headlights. I have a 2005 Volvo S40 2.4i that came stock with Xenon lights. Question number one.... I've had to replace my headlights 2 times in the past 3 years, am I buying the wrong bulbs? I dont know if theres a difference between Bi xenon and HID lights and when the stock ones went out I switched them with D2S bulbs from (Meng motorsports). Anyway the first time they went out I put in D2S bulbs and they worked great, no conversion kit needed. I just swapped bulbs and it was golden. 2 years went by and the bulb exploded again so I changed them with the same bulbs as the first time. They worked fine for about a year and just recently I've be driving and my lights or just one light will flicker and shut off. All I would have to do to fix it is turn the lights to the off position and then back on and they worked fine for about 10 to 20 more minutes. Even more recently however its been getting worse. The trick of shutting them off and back on only works for a minute or two before it fails again. I've tried to disassemble the light and shake wires looking for a looking for a loose connection but to no prevail. One thing I noticed is a weird humming sound that is interrupted when that fail. If anyone has any knowledge on what the cause is I would really appreciate it. Whether its the ignitors, the ballasts or the bulbs Id love some help!

A few days ago, I came out of a mall and the flashers were going off. I unlocked the car, thought that I mistakenly hit the panic button and proceeded to start it. Then, the flashers started again. The horn started honking and the screen said "crash mode". After that, I turned it off and on again and it flipped from crash mode to "valet mode". Turned it off and on again and proceeded to try to drive home. About a mile in, it stopped on me, went to crash mode and I called triple a.

While parked outside my house, the alarm and flashers started going off again due to no apparent reason. I have since disconnected the battery.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

an my fasher turn on my gas door open on off

I may have pulled the seatbelt too tight when moving passenger seat forward to make room for an infant car seat to be placed in rear seat base; the passenger seat belt retracts okay now and works well but light still on

Been on and off for a few months. Ill be driving and all of a sudden I get a brake failure stop safely light and all my gauges go dead. Sometimes from there the MPH will come back on and only the ABS service light stays. Turn the car off turn it back on and it says check engine, engine system service urgent turn it off take out the key and turn it back on and the urgent light is gone only the check engine light stays on until I turn if off and on again. Sometimes ill also get a power steering light as well. Also if I dont wait till the MPH comes back on and I turn off the car while the gages are dead ill get an immobilizer message for ten minutes then it starts up fine. Radio still works windows still work but sometimes driving is rough while its happening. So it definitely a High Speed Communication error. Already tested the alternator and changed the bad battery. I bought a new ecm but havent spent the money to take it to the dealer to get it re programmed cause I want to make sure that its the problem before doing so. Does anyone have any ideas on the issue? Its so frustrating and makes driving anywhere painful.

i need to know how much torque should i apply to the header bolts since i replaced the headers

Just discovered behind the passenger seat floor is sopping wet. Took the floor mat out and trying to air dry the area - I have no idea what has caused this - we have had a huge amount of rain lately and the car is parked in driveway (no garage). Any help would be appreciated.

Just under 85K miles on car. A couple of nights ago I suddenly lost power and acceleration. Dash said "reduced engine performance". I pulled over, shut engine off and started it again. Light was off, and everything appeared back to normal - temporarily. Problem reappeared almost immediately. Found air intake hose loose both top and bottom. Looked like it was damaged at last oil change. Crack in it on the bottom. Temporarily fixed by applying duct tape, and reattaching hose securely. Performance immediately improved greatly; more responsive at slightest tap of accelerator, and light was again out. It ran great for the next 15 miles, then suddenly the same problem reappeared. It has the "feel" of a dirty fuel filter, but I don't understand how that could cause such a sudden change...? Help please! The car is no longer under warranty and I cannot afford a huge dealer bill, chasing what appears to be a very illusive problem.
