Chevrolet Cavalier Serpentine Belt Tensioner May Fail

The serpentine belt tensioner can fail; it may become noisy and/or the belt may jump off. Replacement of the failed tensioner will be necessary.

belt idler pulley or belt tensioner broke off while coming home from Reno, Nv last night. -
spring on tensioner failed, throwing belt -
Just bought the car. The tensioner squeals and I plan on replacing it -
have replaced the serpentine belt 4 times each time at the 1st start of the day there's an awful squealing noise that lasts for about 5 to 10 minutes then stops, within the next 5 starts the belt shreds all on the inner side closest to the motor -
loud squealing that is on and off, it only does it every once in a while. But the longer the car runs the worse it gets. -
Serpentine belt came off, getting it replaced -
Not only newer ones, have an 88 and a 92 which do it as well. not worth fixing if you can stand the noise haha -
supposedly it gets replaces before 100,000 and now i hear it again.. it's a cavy thing. -
ive changed this 4 times in the last 6 months! -

Is there instructions available on how to replace the Serpentine Belt?
