Edit

Model Years Affected: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009

Average Mileage: 53,074 mi (2,000 mi - 100,000 mi)

When trying to close the window, the window  glass will drop a few inches after reaching the closed position. This can happen on any window that has the automatic closing feature.

The system that prevents you from being injured by the automatically closing windows is called the "pinch protection system" and this system needs to be reset, reprogrammed or is defective.

In your owners manual you will find instructions on how to reset this feature. If that doesn't work, you'll need a Saab repair shop or Dealership to check for a software update for the pinch protection system, or see if there is a defective part. Have the shop reference the Saab Technical Service Bulletin (TSB #831-2639)to help address this issue.

I found a solution to all the little electrical problems. Disconnect and re-connect your battery! It re-sets the window - I also had that problem with my roof opening back up after closing. If your battery is old replace it. I did and have no more issues! You can thank me later ;)

Easy fix, car turned off, take out the window fuse #5 (power window drivers side)but check your manual first to check #5 is correct for your model, wait a few minutes, put the fuse back in and recalibrate as per your owners manual. Takes all of 10 minutes.
The window has lost it's correct pinch memory setting for some unknown reason, quite common, by removing the fuse you wipe it clean, so it will allow the new callibration to be done.
    Good luck.

the window goes up hits the top and right back down, the man at the saab dealership told me a lot of people have the problem, rather than saab repairing for free he said to hold down the window lock button while i'm putting the window up this seems to work.

Driver side window will not reset for pinch protection; will not stop at closed position.

driver and passenger windows will either go half way up then go down or go to the top and down half way. It happens once in a while on the drivers side but on the passenger side it is now always happening.

Problem is not consistent (as with all my electronic issues on my car). Happens occasionally when holding power window button when auto - up failure or at end of convertible top closure when it is closing windows.

Same issue as everyone else. It goes up than auto comes back down and wont close. Have to just raise slowly but not all the way or else it comes back down. I have been to the dealer about a gazillion times for this with no resolution. I thought it was just me! I mentioned some people override this, how do you override this feature?

It started with my sunroof, closing then reopening, was told it was the "pincher sensor, replaced, did not fix problem, lived with this by just using the over-ride button. Then passenger window started this, I just ignored and continued to use the override button, lived with this problem for a year, then one morning got into my car and turning signals worked extremely slow and I had no radio system. Took to shop, was told to replace some sort of module that is located under front driver seat, to the cost of $900 for used part, hey now all systems work ie: sunroof, passenger window, stereo system, blinkers. So it all started with sunroof, then passenger windows, took over a year for other malfunctions related to this "module" of some sort
