AAA replaced the battery, and distributor cap. Now the belts slipping and the air conditioner won't engage. Car seems to run awfully hot. What are my options? What is your advice on the matter?

My mercury villager 1996 model is consuming fuel richly that I can't bear it any more. It's was scanned, and the error of engine sensor and knock 2 sensor shows up, I really want to know if the sensors are repairable and can the 2 sensors make it to consume fuel?

Starts and idles good and revs good but no power when driving wont go over 40 knock sensor showed up once before What could be the cause

The engine turns over no spark and no gas . there was a wire lose on the ignition switch and it sparked I replaced all the fuses now it wont start just turns over.someone told me there is a reset switch on the back of the van somewhere

The Light on A/C power button does not come on and nor does the ac compressor kick on. Would the faulty button be the problem or could it be the compressor itself be the issue?

I have put 3 altenators on the van. I know the altenator is good but when I have it checked it still says I have a bad voltage regulator. Sometimes it charges but then it stops charging. Is there anything else I should check

but the distributor is turning and the fuel pump is kicking on oh yeah and starting fluid want make it hit it just cranks and cranks

My friend claims she noticed the radiator was frozen BEFORE she tried to crank tje van. however we have fire on plugs distributor and fuel pump is working . it will turn over but will not crank......

I have a 1996 Mercury Villager Nautica. Added 4 quarts of transmission fluid because the stick showed it to be very low. Van will not go in reverse.

I took car for smog test and it passed all requirements but an exhaust leak at one of the exhaust manifolds. Emissions passed with flying colors. Smog machine did not read fault codes.I removed manifold and replaced 3 broken studs and replaced the gasket. Put it all back together. Took van to smogg and the machine returned fault codes but mechanic was puzzled that engine ligjt wouldn't come on with the engine running. My scanner pulled a p0325 for knock sensor and p0235 for sensor heater malfunction. Any suggestions?

wHEN I FIRST DRIVE MY VAN IT DRIVES GREAT UNTIL I DRIVE AROUND A MILE OR MORE THEN WHYEN IT SHIFTS INTO SECOND GEAR IT CLUNK REAL HARD LIKE THE TRANNY OR MOTOR MOUNTS ARE BROKEN.what can that be and what do i do to fix the problem?

water pump replacement 1996 mercury villager worried about keeping timing belts timing etc in the right spot never did any work on pump run by timing belts pictures would help where can in get this information should belts be rplaced aswell and what else? please help got time but no money

I have replaced the radiator,radiator cap,and thermostat but van is still overheating not as much as before but still does it temp will go down when stopped at red light

I have a 96 Mercury Villager between 33k and maybe 38k. Nice little van buy my friend drove it one day and when she pulled into the parking lot of her destination that motor seized up & died. The car would NOT restart. I tried to jump the car, it got power but you turn the key you hear a click or two. I've replaced the starter and gotten the car to sorta do a 1 or 2 second crank but the motor was burning up my new starter. Its like the motor was locked but I don't get it. I feel like there is more to this. What exactly are the symptoms of the Distributer seizing up? Would that cause a van to die in mid action, CAN you START a van at all with it? And lastly.. Im not a mechanic so How can i tell if it is indeed the distributer? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
