How can I tell if it's the switch starter or the key hole itself??

after the turn is completed, it stops. I also smell something funny- sort of like a burnt smell. What do you think it could be?
The car starts with no problem and runs perfect for about 10 seconds then it dies. It seems like it runs out of fuel. I installed a new fuel pump. Jumping the diagnostic box and the pump runs and generates 48PSI but when the engine runs there is less than 20PSI. I installed another pressure regulator but nothing changed. I wonder if a bad vacuum solenoid would cause this condition? I'm not certain how to test for that.
When I drive I notice a foul burning smell, and smoke...the wheel on the left side is very hot to touch. Then when it happens, I have to let it cool off because I can't get the car to move...the car also shakes when I drive at 60mph or higher.
where is the transmission pump located
I need to replace the passenger side cv joint/axle. I got that out no problem, lots of prying room. I was told I should replace both at the same time. I am trying to get out the driver side. I have no room to get at the section connected to trans. It is block by several things including braces underneath and part of trans. I tried from over head by removing the battery and its stand, but still not enough room to pry with the tools I have. If I pull on the axle, it just separates at the inner joint, I don't want to destroy anything in case I can't get it out and just have to put it back together. I could take a picture if needed.
When I start my car the fan belt squeals for a few seconds then is replaced by something that sounds like a Dremel being used to grind or cut hard stone or something metal. It is coming from somewhere near the motor mount that connects to the alternater. It continues as long as the car is in any of the forward drive gears (stops in neutral and reverse) but sometimes, when I go over a speed bump, a rough driveway or a stretch of road with a lot of jarring potholes, it will stop briefly only to return even louder. (It's really embarrassing...:) ). Any ideas?
The hold light in dash was blinking. When starts blinking the transmission slips. We rebuild the transmission. When we ran the car again, the light stills blinking and still sliping. What other part should we check? Computer?
