2002 Kia Sportage QuestionsRefine by vehicle
It was being driven and stopped and sat for a couple months. When i changed the plugs all four were soaked. The spark plug socket was also soaked leading me to believe the oil coating the plugs may have done so during removal
Will start fine but will not restart for several hours after it has been driven for awhile..(1 hour) what's wrong with it?
I was driving my 2002 kia sportage home when I noticed it was doing something funny. When I accidently put it into neutral, it made a load kinda whinny and grinding sound similar to if you try to start your car when it's already started. I got it home, shut it off and decided to go out, but when I went to start it, I get nothing. No cranking or starting. I fear my starter may have died. Any thoughts?
My brother-in-law took apart the top of the engine to replace the valve cover gasket and then decided to hose down the engine while some of the connections were apart. Now we have an issue with the hold light coming on and the transmission stuck in the hold position. Prior to this I didn't have any issues with the transmission and feel as though there is an issue with the hold sensor that controls the hold button. The problem occurs when the hold light is on or off. As a result the car will only get as high as second gear and revs all time trying to get into 3rd gear. We've tried resetting any codes or taking the battery off to see if that will reset the computer with no luck so far. If anybody has any answers I appreciate it.
It doesn't matter if it's cold or warmed up. I can't seem to find an answer, if I could find a free downloadable repair book, that would help maybe.
driving down road ,felt like it came out of gear, engine revved and clicking in rear. Drive shaft moves, car won't. Transmission or read end?
this is causing my battery to drain, and vehicle won't start.
There seems to be nothing that triggers the alarm. It can happen at any time of the day or night. I would be happy to just have the alarm system disabled.
I HAVE TO PUMP IT REALLY SLOW OR IT DOESN'T STAY IN TANK. A LOT OF PRESSURE BLOWES IT BACK OUT. WHY?
