1994 Geo Prizm QuestionsRefine by vehicle
This only happened once while I was driving and suddenly it stopped running.
Why does the oil light come on and stays on?
my car will crank up and run perfectly fine and it will drive for a lil while, when the temp gauge gets about halfway, and I come to a stop light the engine will turn off. the "check engine" light is on also as well. when it shut off, I let it sit for about 30min.-1hour and it will crank back up and run but it will began to overheat and when I come to a stop sign or a red light the engine will turn off again , I'm not sure whats wrong with my vehicle, can anybody help me , the battery is good , the alternator is fine , I just had my power steering pump replaced , when it blew the was oil all over the place, but eventually was burned off , the serpentine belt is good. can somebody please help me.
Started with my gas pedal vibrating obnoxiously when on the highway going over 65 mph, especially uphill and/ot accelerating.
Then it was the whole car. Had the struts, coils, and mounts replaced. New tires.
Still does it, though slightly less.
It is a '94 geo prizm stick shift with 94 corolla parts. It will crank but won't fire. How do I fix it
My 94 prizim has an external RFID device you place in proximity to the ignitation and activate prior to turning the iginition key to start the engine.
I suspect ther is a ANDTI THEFT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. Is there a way to bypass the anti theft system?
This model has a small black box (like a garage door opener) that you push a button on and then turn the ignition key to start the engine. I don't think the key is a special resistor type key. The key looks aftermarket and has the printing "Ilco USA X217 and TR47"
It is a stick shift and the clutch must also be 100% depressed (to the floor) for the engine to turn over.
Problem: the car refuses to turn over and start. Battery charged, lights and radio work etc. I have disconected the battery hoping for a reset but all I acomlished was haveing to reset my radio buttons. After an hour or so it restarted and I got it home. Now it refuses to start again.
I killed my battery and thought it was bad so I put in a new battery. This battery was too large for the car and I put it in backwards which blew the 100 amp fuse. However, the car will still not start. There is not spark getting to the spark plugs. The ignition fuse is fine. I think I blew something else, perhaps in the distributor. It cranks but does not run. What do you think I blew and how can I fix this. Please tell me what the problem is and how I can fix it.
Every time u start the car ,it cranks over and the engine fuse burns out, why though
Back in Dec.25,2015, I mentioned that I was having problems with 1994 Geo Prizm. I took it to a shop, and found out that my coolant temperature sensor, stopped working. That's why the fan wouldn't turn over like it was supposed to. Even though the fan switch works, I decided I would like to change it out the coolant temperature sensor myself to save a few dollars. Someone gave me advice on how to do it, he said to heat up car, and as it starts to cool down put a rag on the sensor and tap on it until breaks loose, and then unscrew it. Is that true, PLEASE HELP! I rather do it the correct way, and avoid costly repairs later.
when I tried to bust loose the harmonic balance bolt I broke the old timing belt which caused the crank pulley to move a little counter clock-wise off from the camshaft that moved a little clock-wise as a result of the belt snapping into. What should I do now?
And I don't have a wire diagram , some of the diagram I found on Google are different than the other one!!
My question is if the wire that got shorted still working or if the fuse got broke??
