Dodge Dakota Ticking Type Noise From Exhaust Manifold Area
I heard a ticking in the engine and after closely looking at it, I discovered that the bolts had broke off. So I just carefully removed them and replaced them myself. Not a big deal. - Visitor
truck made a loud ticking sound when starting it up and then would only hear it when hitting the gas peddal...found out it was the manifold...found out there was two sides (driver and passenger side) and that it was going to cost me close to 300 bucks to fix! GREAT!!!! - Visitor
BOTH GASKETS LEAK AND BOLTS BROKEN REQUIRES LIFTING ENTIRE ENGINE AWAY MOTOR MOUNTS HUGE REPAIR BILL I HAVE SPENT OVER 3000 DOLLARS TO KEEP THIS TRUCK ON THE ROAD ALL DUE TO MANUFACTURER CAUSED PROBLEMS. - Visitor

same problem with exhaust manifold bolts breaking needed repair is 800+ why wont dodge warrenty this problem? - Visitor
Bolts broke off manifolds replaced them and it did it again! - Visitor
maifold bolts o noth sides are rusted and about to snap. The gasket on the LH needs to be replaced to stop exhaust leak. Valves could possibly become warped from issue - Visitor

2 Exhaust Manifold bolt broke, paid $ to have it fixed. Now other side broke bolts, possible law suit. roger teters - twice
haven't fixed it yet - the bolt broke off. This should be considered a recall due to the possibility of exhaust fumes entering the cab (health hazzard). One part is cast iron, and the other is aluminum - no wonder they don't expand and contract at same rate..... - Visitor

Rear two exhaust manifold bolts (studs originally for heat shield mounting)sheared, so I replaced them with harder bolts, but upon torquing the block threads stripped and now will not tighten. I plan on installing helicoil(s), and hopefully that will be the end of that issue. - Visitor
Broken exhaust manifold bolt. I called the dealer and told them I HAD A LEAKING EXHAUST DONUT. WITH OUT LOOKING AT THE TRUCK THE GUY TOLD ME IT WAS A BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT. I said how can you tell with out looking at it first, He said they all break, Then he told me not covered under warranty. The warranty does not cover fastener. - Visitor
