You probably have a bad balance shaft. Mercedes Benz installed defective balance shafts in their 2006 and 2007 E350 and does not take responsibility for repairing it. Because they use an inferior alloy the gears wear out prematurely.
I would like to know if anybody has a problem with the engine in a 2006 Mercedes E350. Mileage is 39000. My warranty has just expired. Driving along I heard a loud sound like something was in my engine scrambling it up. We pulled the plastic pan and found oil and pieces of metal.
