Car is garage kept never been in an accident, dash cracks are not curling. What could be causing this. Tried to have one crack repaired which didn't hold. Cracks are in various places, it's not one continuous crack.

I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna with the same problem. I first noticed the cracks around the a/c vents in 2007. Since that time I have had more cracks appear and the cracks are growing in length .One of them travels from driver's side a/c vent across instrument panel and to the center a/c vent. This is a Toyota defect particular to 2004 models! The only solution is to replace the dash - very expensive. We need to keep the pressure on Toyota to acknowledge their responsibility.

I also have a 2004 Toyota Solara with 75,000 miles that has been kept in the garage. Cracks started showing up after 30,000 miles. Also, my key wore out and wouldn't open the door even though I could use it to drive. I wrote to Toyota and explained that I also have a 1998 Toyota Truck that has always been outside and there are no cracks in the dash and the key still works.
Asked about the materials that are used in the newer cars and if anyone else has had the key and cracking problem and was told no.
Toyota paid for a new key and told me a new dash would cost $1,300.00.
How many people have to report a problem before Toyota will accept it?

We noticed several hairline cracks a few days ago on our 2004 Sienna as well, including on the side (unexposed area).

Me,too. I have a 2006 Solara SLE convertible with 50K miles. Cracks started developing about two years ago. My radio and CD player cuts in and out - seems to lose power for about 5 seconds at a time, then the music comes on again. Really aggrevating. Another known Toytoa defect. I keep my car in pristine shape but the cracked dash makes it look like junk. If Toyota does not step up and fix their known repairs then I will not buy another one. They used to tout thier quality - seems that they have lost that edge. Too many other good manufacturers to go back to Toyota.

VERY glad to find this site! Our '05 Solara SLE-V6 w/ 65K miles has now developed 4 cracks - all started one year ago. For Toyota, this is ethically and morally WRONG to let this go - ESPECIALLY after reading about other Toyota makes/models experiencing the SAME problem. Anyone has a web address where these complaints/concerns will be NOTICED and acted-upon by Toyota? Send it to ALL of us - please.

my '05 solara is also garaged. has about 60k miles on it. noticed hairline cracks in the dash starting a few months ago and worsening. i called toyota about getting it fixed and was told it would cost aroungg $2500. i called toyota customer care (800-331-4331) and was told that they respond to these complaints if they get enough of them. wouldn't tell me how many or how many they have already received. said the complaint gets sent to design improvement dept. and them someone magically decides to do something or do nothing. i guess the thing to do is for everyone having a problem to call in and get the complaint logged in.

I also have a 2008 Solara SLE with the grey interior and have no signs of cracking at all. I love the cars but am very disappointed in how the tan interior and dash wore.

Some of Lexus RX330 owners, like myself, are having the same issue with the dashboards and Lexus Manufacture is refusing to fix it. It WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO START A CLASS ACTION SUIT TO FORCE THEM TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. IT'S CLEAR THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AS THEY USED A CRAP MATERIAL TO COVER THEIR DASHBOARD. LEXUS IN KENDALL (BIGGEST LEXUS DEALERSHIP IN THE COUTRY) AND LEXUS IN NORTH MIAMI - BOTH REFUSING TO FIX IT AND WANT TO CHARGE ME 3K IN PARTS AND LABOR.

I have 2004 toyota 4/runner and i have cracks occurring on the right side dash just above the glue box, where the airbag is...Took it to a toyota dealership and said that i would have to replace it ($$$$$).
They have not heard or seen any other vehicles with that problem. I explained to them that there is problems out there but Toyota will not look into the issue. My car is a garage kept car and the dealership saw that my car is very well kepted. What else can be done????? THis is not the owners neglect its toyota quality of the 2004 types dash boards.

I also own a 2006 Toyota Avalon - Garage kept and meticulously cleanes. Crack in the dash panel above the glove box first appeared about 2 months ago. In two weeks, it grew to span the width of the panel between the A/C duct and the center inst. panel. I was advised this would cost approx. $2400.00 in parts and labor. Can't believe a piece of vinyl costs this much to replace, especially if this problem is as widespread as it appears to be...TOYOTA SHOULD OWN UP AND ISSUE A REPAIR RECALL!!

CLASS ACTION!! There has to be a lawyer in this group or someone who has a friend who would like to make some extra $$...........This is surely and certainly a manufacturing issue with a few models and select (mostly 2004 and post) model years. An expensive vehicle and most all garage kept. It's a sure thing.

I agree 100%. My solara 2004 cracking all over. I am sure the air bag will be affected . A call to the Toyota 800 # was useless. My Toyota dealer says they will pay on a case by case basis. What is the criteria when it affects all 2004's regardless of condition and care. where is a lawyer.

I guess this will be my last and worst Toyota exoerience

I read your 08/03/2013 blog re: your Lexus. We bought a 2005 Toyota Solara convertible, new in 11/2004 from "Hollywood" Toyota. We'vd seen our vehicle's dashboard deteriorate before our eyes. With 65K miles this car is kept out of the sun in a carport, and otherwise well maintained. This car is my wife's little baby she enjoys driving... however since it has lost it's showroom appearance her feelings have changed. Nonetheless, I would be very interested in working with you or a group to establish the feasibility of asserting our requests for Toyota's acknowledgment, and mitigation of this groups problem. Are you able to reply so we can compare notes? Please contact me, I believe we are local to one another at 33158 (Coral Gables)

I have a 2004 Lexus RX330 and the entire dash board looks like a road map of cracks. The dealer said it was not under warranty and quoted a $1500 replacement fee. The cracks began around the third year of ownership. I'm scared the airbags will deploy if the dash continues to crack.

I have a 2004 Sienna with numerous cracks that started around th3 4th year of ownership. Now I'm at the part that chunks are coming off. This is a real safety issue since they could interfere with the airbag deploying properly. I found that in Australia they are having the same problem with 2004 Prados. How can Toyota get away with this?

I have a 2004 Solara which doesn't see sunlight ever ... it goes from my garage at home to a parking garage at work... yet my dashboard looks like someone took a kife to it.... So exposure to sunlight is definitely NOT the problem. The problem is that Toyota has been cutting corners on interior quality for the past 6 or 7 years... maybe a class action lawsuit is in order...

I would tent to believe it's in the process and materials they have used to manufacture the dashboard panels. Toyota or its subcontractors must keep records of all the processes and quality records. They know what's going on. Or the company that manufacturers the dashboard does. I was in the plastics automotive manufacturing procees and know all the records that are kept. They know exactly when and where the dashboard was made. I wouldn't let up on them. Con tact your congressman, consumer affairs or anyone else you know that may help you get to the bottom of his.

I have a 2003 4Runner with the same issue, cracks everywhere. I have never had a car do this and am very surprised to see it on a Toyota. This is my second 4Runner and I bought Toyota partly because their interiors did not disintegrate like many American models. Was I wrong. Does anyone know if there is a class action suite or other way to exert pressure on Toyota to fix the problem?

I developed cracks in my 2003 4Runner and complained to the dealer a couple of years back and was told it would cost around $1,000 to get it fixed as they claim it was not a factory defect. The car was purchased new and the air bag has never been deployed. The cracks are all over the dash like a road map from end to end.

To my amazement, months ago I complained to my local Toyota dealership about my 2004 4Runner dashboard cracking and I got a call to come in two days ago as a Toyota Corp rep wanted to inspect the dash. The female rep quickly noticed how well the vehcile was taken care of for 7 years old, inspected the dash and admitted it should not be cracking, we went back inside, the dealer rep and Toyota rep spoke and Toyota has agreed to replace my entire dashboard free of charge..hang in there and make a stink. Oh yeah I brought these posts to show the Toyota rep I was not alone, though I did not have to show them, only referenced them. Good Luck.

I have a 2003 4Runner and I have similar crack. Started over the passenger air vent. Then a new crack over the driver side air vent which has spread along the leading edge of the dash over the guage cluster. It is quite annoying and soone my dash will look horrible, despite the fact that the car is otherwise immaculate. This is ridiculous. Toyota needs to recall and replace, as this is obviously an unforseen result of bad design and materials. I feel this will happen to all 4th gen 4Runners sooner or later. All cases that I have read about seem to be similar.

I previously owned a 1997 4runner. The dashboard never cracked on that unit. It's annoying, specially since my 4runner is in great condition.

I have a 2004 Lexus RX 330, dashboard cracks all over (in approx. 10 different areas). The biggest is above the glove box, the instrument panel, and around the air vent. Very disappointed with Lexus. The palm beach dealership wanted $3K. I don't think so.

I also have a 2004 Solara, it has 50,000 miles and it is in the garage 95% of the time, there are cracks starting all around the A/C vents and above the glove box. I think a class action suit should be in order to get there attention.

I earlier wrote about my cracks on the dasboard of my 2006 Avalon now the cracks are even worst going from one side of the car to the other end. Continue to call on Toyota and they are not willing to even see my car. One thing for shure , I would not buy another Toyota again.

I'm having the same issue on my 2006 Avalon, hairline cracks on the dash near the glove box that grow a little more each day. I have not contacted Toyota yet to inquire as to a solution. I am concerned about the airbags functioning properly as the cracks are directly on top of their deployment area.

Next one 6 inches long. Defininate recall issue from all other compaints Ive seen. I will see Jim Norton Toyota in Tulsa OK.

Good news. I had several dashboard cracks on 2004 Solara SLE. Went to dealer and complained. Toyota agreed to supply new dashboard for free. Dealer said he would only charge me for installation. My cost $300 for new dash. I could have probably asked the dealer to split the cost of installation with me, but didn't want to push my luck.

I have the exact same problem! I have an '04 Solara and an '05 4Runner with cracked dashboards. The dealership said they would look into the cracked dash for us and "might" fix it for free. I'm taking the Solara today to demand they do the same for it. From what I have seen on this and other forums, this is a big problem with dashboards made in '04-'05 across several makes of Toyota.

I live in South Florida. The dealership who took care of all my dashboard issues is called Al Hendrickson Toyota. I've purchased 5 toyotas from them over the years and their service dept. is great. The owner and service manager lobbied on my behalf with Toyota and I received a new dash and the dealership only charged me $300 for installation. I think if you make a big enough issue about it and are a decent customer, your dealer should go to bat for you. Best of luck to all with this problem

On Toyota's facebook page: "Toyota USA is as committed to quality as it is to its customers." What is the commitment to both quality and customer here - nadda, zip, none! We definitely should be posting to their facebook page. I get so disgusted at this rip off, and the fact that I've been to three different service centers about this problem and can't even get anyone to seriously consider challenging Toyota on it.

Class action suit sounds good, but what's the process? My 2008 Avalon Limited also cracked above the glove compartment. Warrany Dept's tone was "so why are you calling us?" I guess "quality" is NOT a factor in their material used & customer service. Previous owned Toyotas (older) never cracked. Friends' Lexus cracked, too! If I have to ever get another vehicle...promise, it won't be Toyota! Count me in on the suit! Was quoted $1700 - $2000 to replace the dash...this is a drop in the bucket for Toyota compared to the sales reaped in. Nuts!

2005 solara sle, 60,000 miles. garaged, well maintained. just this year noticed cracks in dash, hairline in multiple places. tole by toyota it would cost $2500 parts and labor to repair. told by tech who does interior repairs that this is common in 04-06 toyotas and there is no repair. bought dash mat to cover it but it doesn't go all the way down and isn't the same as original dash. havent taken it to toyota and complained about a quality problem, but that may be next. any suggestions appreciated. how does one begin class action suit if one is not already started?

Thanks to all of the replies here, I now know that I am not alone. I thought it was hopeless all these years since the first crack appeared! I felt all chance of resale or trades were gone for me. I see on ebay, someone is selling undamaged Toyota Solara 04 dashboards they have pulled out of wrecks, etc. Cost is approx 350.00, free shipping! Don't know if it would be smart to have the same 2004 Toyota dash installed, though, wouldn't the same thing happen again? If so would n't it be better to have it taken care of by Toyota and have a record of it for future problems and any questions at resale. Also on ebay, search Toyota Solara SLE and the main item for sale is the velour, form fitting dashboard covers! Someone saw the need...now if only Toyota would! Thanks again to all who wrote!

Same car, garaged, and I thought when I googled this I wouldn't find anything. This is hideous and not acceptable period! The crack begins along driver side a/c vent and follows the arc of the dash then down to the radio. Then equal sized cracks on either side of the passenger airbag and another to the right of it. I will take the challenge of filing a class action lawsuit. If any one of us bought anything from a decent retail store that was defective we would be refunded or offered a replacement. This is just on a larger scale and requires more work and time. Stay close and give me some time. I'LL BE BACK with further information.

Rastadoc, seems that you are the one that continues to check back..don't know yet but I might need your help. Are you up for it? I did what would amount to a tad of research on class action lawsuits. Seems to me that what is needed is to find the attorney's group who's specialty is "suing automakers" and it won't take much of their time to look on the net and do the numbers. Adding the complaints on various websites plus the math of those who haven't logged a complaint; as you know they know that percentage, I think some large numbers will arise. The sale figures for the 2004 Toyota Camry alone in the US was $424,803! Plus the same problem with Solara, Avalon, Sienna, 4runner and Lexus plus the other years involved and no changes made to correct it for future years. If the attorney's would run ad's on TV like you see done for bad medications, when you've been hurt in an accident, asbestos,etc...???? I wouldn't think Toyota wants another suit this soon after the last fiasco, yes? But then I don't know the law, or the stumbling blocks as of now. What I do know is that I can not afford $2500 for a new dash but if I could I wouldn't pay it because my standards are above giving more money to the guy that ripped me off in the first place. O.K. that's the end of my speech..today!

i think the problem is that too many people burn out and give up. i know i conceded and bought a dash cover. as i understand it, unless there is a safety issue involved, lawyers will be reluctant to spend their time on it. not enough of a percentage for them. toyota pretty much disgusted me with their inaction and attitude on this.

And I can understand people giving up because of the time involved. I am disability retired from the Federal Government. Have a relative who is an attorney. Although this is not his specialty, the firm he is with has a group that specializes in class action law suits, and he knows an attorney that is w/ another group who's specialty is class action. Don't know their specialties yet. So I will continue to educate myself and report back.

I've been searching for Kazuhiro Kobayashi's (toyota Company Pres)address in Japan, just to see if writing (yes, physically mail a letter) could possibly "spark" something about how the US companies have no concern in the "quality" field of what they produce. I have a 2008 Toyota Solara convertible. It has been in the garage and pampered. The dash is splitting over the instrument panel about 12 inches long. It is out of warranty but I have never had any car do this. After reading this blog, I see it is not a fluke. It is a defect in the workmanship of the car. I had to pay to replace the sound system that stopped working but was under warranty and not covered. The black plate at the top of the truck discolored and looked terrible and they replaced it.

I have written to Toyota and they are going to look at it but I doubt they will fix it. Will let you know.

I own a 2006 Solara and has always been garaged and last year around 70,000 miles the dashboard started to crack. One crack goes from the driver side air vent across the instrument panel to glove compartment. The area above the glove compartment is cracked and discolored like the "leather" was damaged by a chemical. My car is in pristine condition and am VERY UPSET with this issue! I will call Toyota and complain as everyone should until they acknowledge this defect.

I have a 2006 Avalon that is having the same issue. Crack appeared on top of dash above glove box. We had that repaired at the dealer by an independent repair person. That was about 3 yrs ago and it is cracked ALL over at this point - around the A/C vents, across dash, above the instrument panel - EVERYWHERE! The car has been garage kept and had a Toyota visor up anytime it's in the sun. I'm almost 60 years old and have never had a car do this! My complaints to Toyota have fallen on deaf ears - they don't even answer. I will NEVER buy another Toyota and will let all my family and friends know the unwillingness of Toyota to help with the problem.

I've been trying to find the corporate or even in Japan. Then we ALL can express our concerns & DISAPPOINTMENTS how they don't care on quality issues. If and when I do get an address...I will definitely be posting it here for us all. But, please don't hold your breath. Still trying.

In this thread, I noted that one person was able to get their dealer to replace the dash with the owner paying only $300.00. I would like to know why that dealer was able to step up to the plate while mine said "the engine runs great, doesn't it?"!!!! Did the dealer with a conscience pay that out of pocket??

Maybe this persons' car was still under warranty or had paid for the extended warranty?
On the other note...getting an attorney first, I was thinking if they receive lots of letters of complaints first...if they might do a recall first (maybe fat chance). But then getting a Law Office to represent will see we exhausted efforts on our part.

At this point, I think I'm just going down to the Honda dealer and buying a new vehicle. Sad, because I really love my Avalon and have had absolutely zero issues other than the dash. Unfortunately, seeing that cracked mess every time I get into the vehicle ruins it for me...

I wonder, what will it take for an attorney to take this case or even look at the issue. Could be Toyota's a huge Corp. and we'd need "thousands" of complaints.

Yes, for an attorney to take on case against a giant corp. They need to have a lot to go on.

I was referred to a specific person at the Toyota Service Dept. by a person that works for "Honda." My friend from Honda was really bothered when he saw all the cracking above the glove compartment. Made/went to my appt. The guy took a pic of the cracks & odometer. Called me about 3 days later & told me Toyota will replace the dash at no charge. I had to ask him to repeat that & they will have a loaner, cause they need two days. He said they're seeing more & more of this and their instructions are to take pics & send in..I'm guessing to the corp. office? Not sure. I informed this lady who works at a body/fender shop, as she had the same problem w/her Avalon (garage kept). She did have it replaced, but she had to pay for the labor. I think her Avalon was a little older (more mileage), but she was satisfied. She said labor cost was about $450. Make the appt w/your Toyota service dealer to show damages. This won't be a recall as it's not a vehicle operating hazzard.

I am also having crackes appearing. I have alawys felt that toyota had a good product. I am not sure of this any more and would not suggest to anyone to buy this product. When sales start to suffer then a change will occur from the cental office.

Same problem here. 2004 Solara SLE. Cracks in dashboard. Had a '95 Camry (brand new), kept it until '05 when I got the '04 Solara. '95 Camry interior/dash was perfect when I traded it in, and the exterior (white) was pretty darned good looking to for a 10+ yr old car with 118K miles. With the '04 Solara, I will say other than cracks in dash, the car has held up very well mechanically - same with the '95 Camry.

I AM SURPRISED BY THE FRUSTRATION EXHIBITED BY THOSE WITH DETERIORATING DASHBOARDS. I,TOO,HAD THE DASH PROBLEM AND FOUND THIS WEBSITE WRESTLING WITH A SOLUTION. I WENT TO SOMEONE I KNOW AT A LOCAL BODY SHOP ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT HE ALSO HAS THIS PROBLEM WITH A LATE MODEL INFINITY. I WENT TO MY TOYOTA DEALER AND HE CLAIMED IT TO BE A COMMON PROBLM.THIS WAS 7/29. I PICKED UP MY '05 AVALON FROM THE DEALER TODAY,WITH A NEW DASH FOR $600 OUT OF MY POCKET. HE TOLD ME THAT LOW MILEAGE COUPLED WITH A SERVICE RECORD WITH THE DEALERSHIP SEALED THE DEAL. INCIDENTALY,THE $600 COULD BE RECOUPED BY SALE OR TRADE ACCORDING TO KBB. TALK,I SAY TALK,TO YOUR DEALER,THEY KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON!!!!

I am experiencing the same with my garage kept '05 Avalon Limited. I first noticed about 1 year ago after mechanic pulled interior air filter,I thought it had been sliced, but has worsened until the whole dash is affected. I was considering trading to a Lexus E350,the only new luxury model with all the bells and whistles of the Avalon Limited. I know Lexus will discount for the condition, ironically being Toyota. I am now reconsidering my choice.

08 Avalon Limited - Toyota just replaced my dash a couple days ago. They took a pic of the cracks & the odometer & got back to me in a couple of days. When I picked up the car I asked if I had a warranty on this replaced dash, and he said one year (unlimited miles). I asked if this replaced dash is a better quality...he said it's a new vendor making the part. I truly didn't know that there are different vendors making different parts for Toyota. Hang in there...wait for your call.

My family has always bought and will continue to buy Toyotas/Lexus. My 2006 Avalon's dashboard looks like a road map. It started over a year ago and the cracks are now everywhere. I hate looking at it everyday when I drive and it's too expensive to replace it. No one else in my friends, family or acquaintances have this problem and are all surprised since we love the Toyota name. Any suggestions as to what to do? Any recalls I am not aware off? Please advise. thanks

I have a Toyota 2007 Solara and have the same problem... I got stonewalled by the Toyota customer service saying I was out of warranty. The dealership also said I was out of warranty and it was up to Toyota. Only 49,000 miles plus. My cost would be over $2000.

Figured I could do better on my own. Being a computer nut, researched the problem. Found the answer: Fill the cracks with Bondo. Sand to be smooth. Buy SEM 39853 (texture) spray locally or call SEM (800 228 6855) to find a local retailer. Get the trim number from the door jam and then get the color spray formula 830-750-7931 from Vinyl Pro and they will make up a spray to match the dashboard. It will look like new.

YEA! I knew in this day of technology someone would come up with a "viable," and if done correctly, undetectable manner of repair. It will take time but worth it. If for no other reason, so that I'm not put in a bad mood every time I get into my car! Thank you very much.

I have a 2005 Solara SLE, same dash cracking problem. 20 K miles/So. Florida rig. Cracks started at 10K miles. Looks like a definite quality control issue but good luck getting Toyota to take care of it - nothing but stonewalling there. I have looked at several other Toyota cars in my area with the same problem, so it is not just me. Thought it was something I did but not after reading all the posts here. Car garaged since day one, no sun or used car cover if outside. Dealer said $ 2K + to repair, yeah right. Last Toyota product I will ever buy, it is made in the US, what do you expect? Toyota quality is mediocre at best, not worth the $ I paid for this car new. Only real option is 1) a dash cover like I did (Auto Anything), not ideal but can't see most of cracks too easily, 2) pay for new/used dash + install, 3) get creative = Bondo, etc., 4) sue Toyota, or 5) live with it.

Bondo the dash??? I will talk that idea over with a body shop owner I trust, he will probably laugh at me but who knows. I saw several sites online that do vinyl type repairs in same manner as the Bondo option but results unknown. No more Toyota products for me, pure junk.

I own a 2004 4Runner and a 2008 Sienna. All well-maintained and garage kept. The dashboard cracks started happening to my 4Runner on its 4th year. Dealer said out of warranty so I just learned to live with it. Now, for the past year, it's been happening to the Sienna, but I'm fighting it!! How can this happen to $30K+ cars?! I'm waiting on a response from Toyota and I will try my dealer. If I get no acceptable action from Toyota, they will lose me as a customer forever, and I will engage in a social media battle against them. They've been hurting on quality for the last couple of years, so I don't get how Toyota management does not have the vision to assist with the issue and hold on to customer loyalty.

Own a 2006 Solara SLE. The car's tan leather interior looks like new, BUT dash is loaded with cracks.
My dealer Earl Stewart in Florida says call customer care
It appears Toyota has no real interest in taking responsibility to correct a problem they allowed to occur by using defective materials when they constructed the dashboards of these cars.
Since my car is in great condition (except for the dashboard) whenever people comment on it's exterior looks,I mention the dashboard problem, how widespread it is and Toyota's disinterest in at least helping their customers resolve it,
SPREAD THE WORD,Things like this have a way of snowballing, which could result in a negative impact in future Toyota sales.

Happy to report that I picked up my 06 Solara with a brand new CRACK FREE dash today from my Toyota Dealer. Cost me $623 and worth every penny not to look at that SEA of cracks anymore.
IT all Started by calling Toyota's customer care center.
I explained The problem from my point of view as being a widespread classic case of a defective product that Toyota as a responsible manufacturer needs to address. Also the large amount of internet posts probably represent only a fraction of the total problem
Being a "Loyal" Toyota customer (4 Lexus & 3 Toyota's)and having a Good Dealer I think helped get the job done.

I have a 2008 well-cared-for Avalon Ltd. My wife just noticed two cracks just above the glove box. From everything I've read on this forum, this is a manufacturer defect and these splits will be spreading fast.

Two years ago another widespread manufacturer defect affecting my Avalon (headlight housing problem) netted me a mere $250 service gift card from Toyota for a $2,500 repair. As serious as that problem was, sometimes causing the headlamps to explode, Toyota would not issue a recall and foisted the repair bill on to its customers.

In the past I often spoke with pride about how great a deal a Toyota Avalon is when compared to other luxury cars. Without the support of adequate customer service, especially in resolving issues that involve blatant manufacturing defects, everything else is nullified. I recently broke my Toyota buying trend by purchasing a VW Touareg, and I've never looked back.

The cracks in my 2007 Sienna started showing up when the car was about 2 yrs old. I would report it to the dealer each time I took it in for service but they blamed it on whatever I used to clean it or the sun. At work I park in a covered garage, so the sun could not be the culprit. I never used any harsh chemicals to clean it. The dashboard feels sticky to the touch.

    Hello,
I rarely drive my 2008 Avalon and it stays in my garage. I took it out the other day and noticed a crack below the glove box. I took it too PB Toyota and was told not a recall item and they would take a picture and send to Toyota to see if they would cover it to be fixed. Meanwhile I have been on line to find quite a few complaints for same issue.
Does anyone have an address or phone number to call to talk to someone at Toyota?
    Thank you

I have a 2006 Solara Convertible that has been garaged since day one. I detail it inside and out and I'm shocked that I don't know the exact date of cracks appearing on my dash on either side of the air vents. I live in Florida and freezing and thawing are not really an issue.

Is there a class action law suit in progress right now? I would love to be involved. Toyota has contacted me numerous times to buy back my car, I would just like them to fix the cracks.
