The car was made in California, but the guy put in a non-California engine. I put new spark plugs, hoses, filters, and everything else I could touch on it. It surges on acceleration, only going up to 20rpm
This has occurred several times during the last month. The starter motor is relatively new; less than 2 years old.
The car has started every time this has happened. When I try it again, starts normal.
the speedometer & tack work. but the odometer & trip meter do not work. the odometer stopped at 40999.
what would cause this. electrical or mechanical? any help would be appreciated.
speedometer reads 75mph when car is going 60mph. Lower speeds are proportionally incorrect
There is a plug off the side of the valve cover. It popped off and oil poured out. Does anybody know what this plug is and why it might have popped out?
the speedometer works. tack, odometer & trip meter don't work. what would make this happen? thought they were all connected.
it doesn't work all the time.
wife pulled in the driveway it made a noise and died wont start. checked spark ok, pulled timing belt cover ok, fuel pump primes itself when key is turned but it wont start what should I try next? I cant tell if pump is running when its turned over help please!
The battery wouldn't charge while running. Saw sparks in alternator while running. Replaced alternator. Replaced battery. Did ok for a short time then battery went dead while car sat. Cable sparks when connecting to battery indicating power drain. Is there a common issue similar to this with this vehicle?
The gear selector slide I find is a smooth black plastic piece. The one that came originally was a stepped piece. How do I find that part number and availability?
I am expecting a huge bill for removal and replacement of the driver's side rear window belt - regulator. Mechanic told me it took him 1 1/2 days and may be setting me up for a huge bill.
WHEN TEMPS OUTSIDE IS WARM I HAVE A LITTLE HEAT BUT SOON AS IT GETS COLD I HAVE NONE. PUT A NEW THERMOSTAT IN FLUSHED HEATER CORE LAST YEAR. IT DOESNT OVERHEAT TEMP GAUGE IS OK.
it seems like everytime the car warms up to a certain temperature it just dies you step on the accelerator and it acts like its flooding out or something have to check fuel pressure brand new fuel pump in a brand new timing belt runs great for about 7 to 10 minutes I want it gets to a certain temperature it just dies you wait maybe 15 20 minutes and I'll start up again for another 5 minutes running just perfectly and then dies again

It kept running and didn't set off the "Check Engine" light. A few days later it wouldn't start after parked a few minutes. A check of power to the fuel pump relay showed "0" volts. No codes showed on the key test.
How do I test it and in what sequence?
