check engine light is on.Digital display read "check gas cap" once and the check engine light wont go off. After I pump gas it takes 5 mins for my car to start. Found out that this was because its taking longer for the pressure to build back up in the gas tank.

Check Gas Cap displays and Check Engine Light stays on. Already frustrated with the recalls I've had on this little car....Even though I received a new power steering motor AND new ignition at no cost to me, I am Seriously considering trading it in for something newer!

  • I keep taking my car in for the problem and when I pick it up I'm told there is not a problem in the engine light remain off for awhile, but eventually come back on. The gas cap has be replaced but that did not complete the problem.

Problem still not fixed. Would not pass emission test had to pay extra 90 for computer analysis even though knew it was gas cap. Replaced gas cap, turned engine light off and had to take emission test again week later - passed. Now 3 days later, car flashes check gas cap and engine light back on. I guess I will have to pay an extra 90 dollars every year to pass emission test. What a joke.
