Chevrolet revised the design of the tensioner multiple times over the production of the Cobalt, replacement is necessary to remedy this condition. A failed chain tensioner may result in a broken timing chain and subsequent engine damage if the issue is not diagnosed and repaired.
The 2008-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt has known issues with the EVAP system, a part of your emission control system.
To correct the issue, the EVAP canister vent valve, solenoid, and wiring must be inspected. The most common fix is replacement of the wiring connector or replacement of the vent valve assembly.
