a 2000 Honda Passport will not shift out of first gear

When you are checking the fluid , it is with it warmed up , raised on a lift(level of course) and running. Pull fill plug out and pump in fluid until it over flows then re-install plug.

After shifting from park to drive , park to drive , check and fill , running then try it

You added fluid but is it at the proper level now? Look in owners manual for fluid level check instructions!!! If you cant find let us know.
