car will start w out radio installed??????

list of problems withn 7 months 1. water pump exploded while driving 2. heater core went out 3. temp senser in radiator 4. all gauges except fuel stopped working 5. key wouldnt come out 6. key stopped turning cylinder locked up. fixed all problems except gauges and got new lock cylinder (which was a bitch drilln a hole in housing) then yesturday shifter nob stopped going in all the way then 4 hrs later key locked up again. took car apart looked at all wires found atleast 6 wires rubbing against belt and were shredded put connectors on and still radio wouldnt power on but had power running through it key still locked. unhooked radio tried to start car.it starts, w radio not installed gauges work nob goes in but key still wnt release on its own, i'm frustrated

i heard that this car needs the brain to function so why is it all good, do u think someone crossed wires? do i need to go through all wires in car? i cant read any codes because car has no radio (brain)
