how do I turn off the windshield wipers on a Volkswagen cabriolet 1989, when its placed in the off position? the windshield wipers continue to move.
The vibration is felt in steering wheel seats and floorboard. When under load vibration increases, at cruise on level in city and over 40 the vibration ceases. No real noise is evident. Think it might be the torque converter??
have replaced ball joints, tie rods, etc. but racy is still leaking, found a good new rack on line but never replaced one,i am trying to rebiuld front end like new, how much work is replaceing power rack ?
I have to keep giving it gas then it shuts off then I have to do it over until it runs on its own. Once started it will keep started unless I leave it over 4 hours then I have to do it all over again
Is using automatic fluid ok or should I used manual fluid only?
I change the exhust manifold, now cant get the car to start. it acts like it wants to start even kinda starts for a couple seconds then dies.

i thought this problem was fixed!just picked up from the place who fixed the car!I have a full tank of gas car starts fine warms up goes about 10 miles and acts like it has run out of gas even though every thing has been fixed i guess 3 times a charm!i was told yesterday every thing has been replaced so this will not be a problem again!!!!!!!!well it did,sorry for being a smart ass,however lots of money going out door and no old parts are ever given back,i thought when someone or place of service makes a point to ask,any way this has happen to many times i have had it towed there they keep it for 3-4 days and tell me they have fixed the problem,I pick it up same thing,since then i replaced the floater in the gas tank,replaced all fuel lines put new fuel fliter on replaced fuel pump,replaced fuse,replaced fuel sending unit and car has been eating alot of gas.and they said they cleaned out gas tank,car ran fine then lost power
mom has a carmen gia it,s a 68 she took it in to have the oil pan fixed car was at shop for allmost 6 months came back with the same problem how ever they put 4 new tires on it and did not fix problem because it still leaks pools of oil i think i could swim in it!and its not what she asked for!"she the best customer we have"red flag mom!Please they all so gave her a brake job she did not need and charged her for it.my mom is 75
do i need to pull rear axle to remove tank or is there another way to remove the rust particles and broke down hoses from tank?

I have a 1985 vw Cabriolet w/ manual transmition. There is a round rubber seal with a hole in it on top of the bell housing. Does this opening stay open, or should it be plugged?
