Updated PCM software can help if transmission stays in second gear on Mitsubishi Raider

If the automatic transmission intermittently stays in second gear (will not shift into a higher gear), restarting the engine may fix the condition temporarily. Updated software for the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) can solve this concern.

2006 Mitsubishi Raider - 2WD 140,000 mi,
The engine will sometimes not start the first time I try and it will randomly get stuck in second gear until I drive for a distance and then it will start shifting normally. The Check Engine light will sometimes come on and the engine will get stuck in second gear until it is driven for a while and then the Check Engine light will go out.

2006 Mitsubishi Raider Durocross access cab, 2 wheel drive, 4.7 v8. Occasionally stays in 2nd gear after starting (approx. 3 times a month). I can stop and turn the engine off and sometimes that works or I can continue to drive slowly and the transmission will start working after a few blocks. I have been to multiple dealers several times and they put my truck on their machine, charge me and tell me nothing is wrong. It has been doing this for the 3 years and 4 months I have owned the truck.
