Transmission has been shifting hard for a few months in the higher gears. took it to the Chevy dealer and paid them to change the fluid. That was 3 weeks it REALLY shifted hard and would not go above 25mph and no reverse.

Wave plate failed, fortunately while car was parked, damaging rest of tranny. No forward or reverse function. Towed to dealer, which replaced with new transmission under warranty. Dealer rep says this malfunction probably wouldn't have occurred while vehicle was in motion. Don't want to find out.

just found out yesterday, Chevrolet dealer repair shop said I needed a new computer. I have had to be towed twice and the third time the 15th of June, I was 100 miles on north 127 about 104 miles from home and leaving a rest area then the car engine refused to start. Waited about 30 minutes and it finally started and we were able to get home. It was the third time it has happend. The engine hss stopped complety, once on the hwy. I am a 82 years old, never had a ticket or an accident. I am a good driver an cannot afford expensits like This. Right after the first incident, I felt this shoud be a recall. I am now afraid to drive the car.

    Thank you,

Transmission froze up in low gear. Keep it two weeks at shop to fix. Now out of warranty due to 5 yrs old. Will they cover it now if it happens again? I wonder, NOT!

Taking my daughter to the doctor for a fever my car had trouble going into 3rd gear. It went into 4th gear but would never go into 5th. At the Chevy dealer shop I am being treated as if I did something to cause the wave plate to break. They say it will cost $1100 to take the transmission apart to see if what the codes revealed are true and that I will probably need a new transmission. Then that the warranty company for my extended warranty will decide if they are going to cover it. Do they think I am an idiot because I am a woman. The technician acts as though he can't tell me anything further so I am on the internet looking it up and find out that it is a common issue because the waveplate for this year and transmission is weak. Not my problem. Look out! Intelligent woman with internet access!
