The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) May Not Turn Off When the "ESP Off" Button is Pressed on Jeep Patriot

On 4x4 vehicles, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) may not turn off when the "ESP off" button is pressed. Our technicians tell us a software update for the anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module is available for this concern.

problem details
2013 Jeep Patriot 19,920 mi,
ESP light would not extinguish. Took to dealer, who performed a software program change affecting the anti-lock brake system (ABS) and repaired the problem. Also performed a software upgrade available from Chrysler for the drive train module. Oops, I posted too soon. When starting the car later the same day, the ESP light is back on and cannot be extinguished . . . back to the Jeep service dealer.
