It is not uncommon for the clear coat paint to develop white spots and begin peeling. In most cases Mitsubishi will not cover out of warranty repairs for this condition.

Having white spots then peeling of my clear coat on my octane blue Mitsubishi Lancer, on top of roof and also on the sides of my car.
The clear coat has come off of most of the car which has also caused the paint to chip all over the car and rust has began to form in some areas as well. No repairs have been made at this time due to expenses.
Top clear coat began bubbling and peeling off. It looks heinous now for being so recent. Hoping a class-action lawsuit opens up to address this.
A year after buying the car the clear coating started peeling but the manufacture wouldn't do anything about it . Now the whole top and one side of the car has no clear coating.
about a month ago I noticed the clear coat starting to peal off all over the top of my car, down the side and now on the hood. I have the 5 year 100,000 mile warranty coverage on it but not sure if it covers the paint. Does anyone know if this issue is covered?

Clear coat has started peeling between the windshield and the sunroof. Looks horrible. Mitsubishi Lancers are prone to paint issues. I belonged to a group of Lancer enthusiasts and we all had paint chips on the hood within the first year of owning them. Car isn't worth repainting now.
clear coat is peeling ,paint has tiny holes in it,almost all of the car has paint problems..
clear coat is peeling on front portion of roof, and now notice a bubble starting on passenger door.

The car bonnet paint start fading 2 years ago and is faded completely. No where else but the bonnet only.
My Dad gave me the 2002 Lancer OZ rally when it had about 95,000 miles on it & even then the cold/hot air knob was hard to turn & has progressively gotten worse. Its the worst when the car is cold(impossible at times). The car now has 145,000 miles & yesterday we got 9" of snow, while backing out of the driveway I was trying to turn it ALL the way to heat & the entire knob broke off! I'm now using pliers to switch it back & forth.
Started in 2011. Just the clear coat is peeling off all over the car. Mitsubishi paint jobs do not appear to last more than a few years.
My paints look like junk. The prep by the factory is very poor. I have spots popping up everywhere. the hood is extemely faded and the spoiler is also faded.
