Problem Description and Possible Solution
The 4WD light may flash on and off intermittently with no transfer case related fault code stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). Our technicians recommend to ensure the correct Nissan/Infiniti approved fluid is present in the transfer case if this condition occurs.

4WD light comes on when car is started even though it is in 2WD. After car has been turned off and started again, the 4WD light may or may not come on, there is no pattern to it coming on or going off.
My yellow 4WD light just came on for the first time last night, but I've suspected major suspension problems for a while. The car drives with a constant tick/rumble from about mid-car, underneath. It sounds like someone put a playing card in the spokes of a bicycle wheel. It has also felt like I'm hydroplaning slightly when the car warms up and i'm driving normally. Rear shocks need to be replaced, for sure (since it doesn't do any kind of bounce back up when i put weight on them), and I'm worried maybe the whole tail end is screwed up from too much "unshock absorbed" driving. After heavy driving (double what i normally do) last night, the green 2WD/4WD light-up wheel lights all disappeared and the yellow 4WD light came on. It now sounds like I'm dragging something when I try to drive it. I'm taking it in on Monday.
