1991 Subaru Loyale QuestionsRefine by vehicle
I was quoted 700.00 for repairing an oil leak behind the timing plate. Is that near right?
I was driving one evening, and the car just stop running in the middle of gassing. I pushed the car to the side of the road and tried to start it. The car is cranking but will not cut on. I had a friend hook jumper cable to the car and tried to start it, no dice. I checked all the fuses and none appear to be bad, no breakage on any of them. When I turn the key without turning on the car, you hear a low buzz from the fuel pump, so I'm assuming this isn't an issue, though a neighbor said it still may be the pump. Any answers will be appreciated. I'm trying to fix this myself for financial reasons.
I just need to get instructions on replacing these belts - such as which belt goes where ( it takes 2 v belts), should 1 be placed 1st? They are extremely close together - how do I loosen tension, etc. I do these repairs myself out of necessity, not because I get a kick out of it! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I am looking at a 91 Subaru Loyale for an entry level car for my daughter. The transmission shifts hard when in is cold but smoothes out some after 5 or 10 minutes. The owner claims that changing the transmission filter will rectify the problem. Does that sound correct and how hard is the filter to change?
Car won't start. There's only power to fuel pump when it start's but when the ignition switch returns to the on position there's no power to the fuel pump.I checked fuses, Okay. When the key is in the on position, there's no power to the line side of the fuse for the fuel pump circuit, only in the start position. I've checked the pump and ignition relays and both of them are good. I've replaced the ignition switch relay on the steering column. I'm stumped. Only thing I can think of now is the SPFI unit.
It won't start. I primed the trottle body and it started for a while and stopped and won't start now at all unless I prime it. I replaced the fuel filter just for grins and no go. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is bad. Is the pump inside the gas tank on this car? And is it very hard to install? I'm unemployed right now and I can barely afford the cost of the pump right now. Thank you. Darrell.
