Same as everyone has posted. I just seem to be having a problem finding out if I should replace the whole Panel of gauges. My speedometer works fine, but the Tach and Fuel gauge haven't worked since about 80,000. My transmission started slipping and the Serpentine belt is due for replacement. I planning on getting it all fixed next month but my questions is costs to replace the gauges and should I just replace the speedometer as well given the issues stated here.... What's to say the replacement pieces will fail? Anybody who replaced have any issues with the panel since?

My gas gauge would stop working completely. The dial would go past the full line and be straight up and down! The speedometer also would stop working. It would have the same problem as the gas gauge. The only way it was fixed was by purchasing a new instrument cluster from the manufacturer. That cost me $500.

I have had the problem of my gauges not working for quite some time, I asked the dealer about replacing the instrument cluster and was told that they have to check it out there, and fix the problem, this was not an option since i needed my car to get back and forth to work. I was wondering if this is a recall problem since i know of several Monte Carlo owners that have had this same problem...

When tank said 1/4 full it is actually empty..ran out of gas to determine this. Check engine light was on for 2 years. Low coolant lights comes on and goes off, coolant level is fine....car tends to show an overheating event yet neeedle goes back down as fast as it went up....gauges are all bad...

The speedometer would start to indicate speed which was lower than what the car was going. This would get real exciting when activating "Resume" on the cruise control. The speedometer mechanism was replaced under warranty. The problem could be instigated by running the instrument lights at full brightness.
The car now has issues with the other gauges not resetting correctly on startup.Flag ThisLike0
