Oil may leak from the all wheel drive transfer case. This can cause the level of lubrication to get low and cause bearing wear and failure. This can allow lock up of the powertrain and cause the vehicle to lose control, leading to an accident.
You must contact and visit a Mitsubishi dealership to perform recall repairs on your Mitsubishi vehicle. The schedule for Mitsubishi to contact known owners of affected vehicles was during June, 1993. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Mitsubishi dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
