Rear hatch won't close due to trunk pull down switch failure on Pontiac Firebird

The hatch pull down switch may fail causing the rear hatch not to close completely. Our technicians tell us that the switch can be replaced with out changing the complete pull down motor assembly.

Appears that spring release for key once its turned to open position does not spring back therefore not allowing rear hatchback to close/function properly. Had to remove three screws on latch and remove it and then turn rod acuator back to close position. Then resemble the hatch mechanism and close. Plan on not opening until I can get parts.
