Cadillac Seville STS Trunk Lid Won't Close Due to Trunk Pull Down Switch Failure

The trunk pull down switch may fail causing the trunk lid not to close completely. Our technicians tell us that the failed switch can be replaced without changing the complete pull down motor assembly.

Trunk will not pull all the way down, however it locks -
My truck was also doing the same thing. I cleaned under the switch where it latches with brake cleaner fluid and now it works great -
cleaned the pull down switch insides with contact cleaner and unit works again -
Trunk pull down just stopped working. No fix yet. -
Trunk would not close due -
Disconnected. Just close the trunk like a normal car. -
i found that the relay that controls this is the problem u can pull the fuse for now under rear seat -
1999 Cadillac Limo trunk will not close all the way.. -
No solution. Cadillac dealer "jerry-rigged" latch to keep trunk closed. Supposedly, part needed was no longer available? It has been fine since but automatic trunk release no longer works. -
It seens when it cold,the trunk lid does not close.I put wd 40,in the locks.It happen only when the weather is cold outside. -
Trunk pull down motor kept running, so I removed the fuse (located in trunk on left side). I use the trunk now like it doesn't have this feature. -
THe trunk wouldnt pull shut anymore at all, so we just slam it shut and try not to open it -
