The engine may develop an oil leak from the lower crankcase portion of the engine block. Our technicians tell us that the engine must be removed from the vehicle to properly repair this oil leak.

I bought the car few days ago, when i moved the car oil spot was under the engine. under the engine the oil pan was covered with oil. Please let me know what is my first step to check. Thanks Roger

First I noticed some oil spray on the underbody at 65,000 miles, and after another 6 months started to get an identifiable drip. Later found out that this is a common problem with this engine.
Now it leaks a little more, but not excessively if the oil level is kept on the low side. Never did fix it, and haven't yet had the urge to pay for the repair or fix it myself ... ( it's only been 14 years ).Flag ThisLike0 -
