A droning type noise may be noted when the air conditioning system is operating. Additionally, a vibration may be felt in the steering wheel. If these issues are no longer present when the AC system is turned off, the problem may be low refrigerant charge in the system. Our technicians remind us that if the refrigerant charge is found to be low, proper leak diagnoses should be performed in addition to recharging the AC system.

A/C on my 2007 e93 BMW 335i 3-series stopped working at 60k mi. The dealer told me the job would cost $4500. yes, 4500. This is not only absurd amount, but also a clear case for impunity class action lawsuit and/or small claims court. Please respond below if you are having/have had the same problem on 3-series. That'll help all of us in getting BMW doing the right thing by fixing this design issue. Thanks
The sound is annoying all i can say is that it hurts my ears tired of the noise sending a strong shaking vibration through my body
Car is in the shop as I type this. Had a steady vibration in the steering wheel for a few weeks and did not realize it was only happening when the A/C was on. Over the weekend the air temperature from the blowers was cool not cold. Dealer says it needs a new A/C evaporator and will take 2 days to fix.
" string in the fan" ype noise on the passenger side when idlying and vibration on steering wheel and vehicle. No vibrations once turned off.
