HVAC Oder Due to Mildew in Heater Box on Mercedes-Benz CLK350

I have the same issue. how do i get to the source of the problem and fix it.
Definitely a strong odor coming from the HVAC system that makes it a little embarassing to have others ride along in your "luxury" automobile. Any advice on how to completely correct this would be appreciated.

Same situation, Contacted dealer paid 250.00 for the service at the Grapevine TX dealer ship. Cost of service included, the air filter change, and to flush the system with a solvent, to help eliminate the odor...Smell came back with in 60 days.
