Car jerks as I begin to accelerate. Sometimes it feels like someone rearended me, it jerks so hard. This does not happen all the time, it comes and goes for no apparent reason.
WOOOW! SCARY! Mine does the EXACT same thing! I work 35 miles away from home & It does it about 2 days out of the 5 day workweek (getting to be more frequent, though!). It seems to ONLY do it on my way home after work (sitting in the hot sun & it's a black car), never on the way (after sitting all night in the cold)...(maybe temp. related???) when I 1st start it after work, I pull out of the parking lot & go about 2 blocs to a red light. When it turns green, I go to go but the car don't move....I give it gas & the engine just revs up & then WHAM!! it "catches" & I finally go after about 3-5 seconds! It may or may not do it 1 or 2 more times, then, it seems to "stay engaged" after that. Another thing, is when it does this, all the way home, every time the car shifts up or down, instead of smoothly shifting from 1 gear to the other (which is almost un-noticible), it "slams" from 1 gear to the other. (like u dropped the clutch after shifting gears with a manual transmission instead of letting the clutch out slowly.)...I've been getting worried as it seems to be becoming more frequent...ANYONE found a CURE? I bought my car used, but bought the LONGEST, most complete warranty they had, so...I wanna know if this's something I should take in asap, or not.
While accelerating from a stop, or accelerating from various speeds such as 35 or 55, it will jolt during acceleration as if it is slipping between gears.
When I press the gas from a stop the car jerks or jolts. I have changed transmission fluid twice and no improvement.
The car jerks when driving, especially when accelerating.
Car jerks when starting to move from a full stop. Took it to dealer. He says it didn't do it when he drove it. It is sporadic. Doesn't do it all the time.
Jerk after sitting at caution light or several stop and goes.
When i accelerate from idle it jerks or jolts and also does that when I'm driving faster than 20mph.
I had to get my transmission replaced because of the "kick" it would often give when accelerating or after pulling off from a stop sign or light. The diagnosis was a long shift, an inner transmission problem. Aamco does free multi-point engine and transmission inspection should you need an official diagnosis.Hope this helps someone.
When I take off from a light, the trans seems to give you a jolt . It was like getting hit from the rear end, so hard it would almost give you whiplash. tried all kinds of ways of taking off from the light (slow/fast etc.)to avoid it but eventually it did it almost every time. Just kept getting worse. took to the dealer they had no clue how to fix it, just replace the trans with no help from GM (surprise there...nope)just replace the trans at $3500. Just got all twisted up over it and got a new car...sad GM doesn't stand behind their mistakes anymore. don't forget the faulty ignition switch
Car jerks once in awhile when stopped at light
It jerks at about 35 miles an hour and when I stop and take off jerks big time
Car jolts in drive while drivingand when you try to excellerate.
jerking a bit during exceleration and then every time i'm giving it gas.
Jerk on going forward from stop and occasionally as shifts. Not resolved as is intermittent and tech has not figured out issue
When stopped at a traffic light, the auto often jumps forward. It also jumps while driving when I change speed up or down.
my 2003 jolts when I put car in reverse when I am on an incline but it doesn't have to be a steep incline.
The car jolts when accelerating slowly from a complete stop, only does this once in a while has been 3 days since the last occurrence and I have noticed a slight increase in the temp gauge as this happens
My car just started doing this now I honestly think American cars are the worst
Dealer says nothing wrong
