The car jerk when driving

hood release cable sleeve is probably broken. latches will not release from pull handle. what is the procedure for getting at the latches to release them manualy?

I am trying to find the location of the both on my 03' Jaguar X-Type 2.5 Liter V-6 engine. If you have diagrams it will make it easier for me to get to.

For some reason i checked my coolant level and found it was empty. Filed it up with coolant. Next night I was driving when red light s saying car engine hit came on. No place to pull over for approximately 2-3 miles. By time I stopped white smoke or steam was coming from engine. Waited for it to cool and checked coolant levels to find that it was again empty. Put in more coolant looked under car and saw a steady dripping of the coolant coming from front center of engine. Coolant may of leaked from the front drivers side of engine because I could see a drop trail going across the bottom. I assume I should have car towed and not drive it as in I don't want to blow the engine. What happened?

i just had new jag alternator put in 3 days ago and the gearbox fault light is still on! The car will not catch when I put in Drive - and whenit does, it runs very weak. I think it needs a console or a throttle body sensor? I also have a sensor light that is on on the dash.

I had the care looked at and there's a knocking noise to it and even louder when revving up the engine. I was told it could most likely be the Piston rod.. My question is whether it can be fixed and if so roughly around how much? A mechanic I know says it can be fixed underneath without having to take out the engine from the top..
