problem details
2007 Cadillac DTS 120,000 mi,
I have been noticing my lights flicker from the fluorescent lights to the parking lights and not nearly as bright. ANd as the problem continues one head light will go out for while if I hit a bump and now both are going off at times. I can also see that the light bulb itself has almost burnt a hole in the headlight. Not sure if this is electrily or how to handle it. I have bought all new bulbs and still nothing.
2007 Cadillac DTS 100,000 mi,
Left headlight turns off. If I turn the light switch off and on, it lights again.
2006 Cadillac DTS 87,000 mi,
Soon after I bought the car in 2012 I had to take it in to have the right headlight checked because it was flickering and would have to turn the lights off and then back on, the installed a complete light assembly, now after 2 years its starting again. Got pulled over 2 times each time a warning, but the next time it would cost $113.00 for the ticket. I really think the Cadillac dealer should do a recall on the head lights....
2006 Cadillac DTS 13,000 mi,
Right headlamp will flicker then go out. Turn off lights and turn back on, it works for a while, the goes out again This seems to be a common issue, why has GM not issued a recall as this is absolutely a safety issue? Took it Cadillac dealer, they could not isolate the issue as it is intermittent, therefor, they could not fix it. It is still happening at 178000 miles.
2006 Cadillac DTS 92,000 mi,
Left headlamp would flicker bright then dim then go out. Could turn controls off and on, headlight would go back on, but continued to flicker and go out at about 10-15 min intervals. Dealer was unable to find the problem; suggested it might be the switch. Paid $400 for new switch . Did not fix the problem. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. Flickering and outage not noticeable when driving in high traffic or well lit areas, therefore driver doesn't "switch back on" regularly..
