Chevrolet Monte Carlo Key Stuck in Ignition Lock Cylinder

The automatic transmission shifter may fail, or a wire may break near the shifter causing the ignition key to become stuck in the ignition lock cylinder.

I had the same issue where the key was stuck and I could not get the car out of park. They were able to repair the wires in the shifter for about $275. Had they not been able to repair them, it would have cost me $1,000 for a brand new set of wires. I am now having an issue where I can't push in the shifter knob to get it out of park. Back to the shop I go. -
Key sticks in ignition when in park. I have to push the gear stick forward, sometimes wiggle it to get the key out. -
