Hard/Soft Tops May Develop Problems Due to Age on Mercedes-Benz SL500

top and windows do not operate. top light button flashes but nothing happens. car was stored, battery dead
hyd oil leaking on drivers side dripping down sunvisor arm-not fixed- to fix replace hyraulic cylinder located in upper windshield frame that locks the tops down
Soft Top stopped in mid-cycle (while trying to put up) now the top is out but wont latch down, and windows won't roll up (which I wouldnt figure they would since it's in the middle of a cycle)

Car has been in dealership currently & NUMEROUS times before with roof alignment issues consequently breaking off cover flaps &/or stuck during roof open/closure cycle

willow and alarm,hard top willn't work no power for the hard top to come off.

Went to take off hard top and fluid started to leak from driver side at the visor. Went to put top back on and will lock completly at rear
top will not unlock lt side ( unlock manually) top will go down --- on way up top stops half way up
Had hydraulic leak in trunk from top actuators. Took it to the dealer, who wanted $7500 (!!!) to fix 5 of the 12 cylinders. Uh, no! I paid $6300 for the car. So, what to do... Did some investigation and found a place online (mbseals.com) that will provide you with the appropriate polyeurathane seals and nitrile o-rings to replace within the actuator cylinders. They are $275 plus shipping for all 12 cylinder kits. There is also a place in Oregon (Top Hydraulics) that will refurbish your cylinders for up to $550 for all 12. You have to remove all of them and ship them to Oregon (not sure what that costs. So, after some thinking, I have decided to do them myself. It will be a long job to replace all 12 but I am going to give it a shot. I'll let you know how it goes. If anyone else has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.

The convertible top will unlatch but not go down, and the auto locks do not work
I have a 2002 C55 AMG w 44k. I interrupted the convertible top cycle somehow. The back latch did not engage. I got it hooked ... The next timeI went to put the top down - the top switch blinked back. The cables seem fine. The hydraulics were fine when this happened but may be faulty now. It is my impression it is. Computer problem. I need to get this resolved. I am a dealer but this particular car I wanted to hang onto - but not four years! Mary
