It is common for the fuel level sensor in the fuel tank read the fuel level incorrectly. The sensor must be replaced to correct the condition. Our technicians recommend having the complete fuel pump module replaced on high mileage vehicles.

When the actual fuel level is just below 1/4 tank the guage will float to full and stay until the car is shut off.

I'm stuck on the side of the road right now waiting for my girl to give me a ride to the gas station. It's 28 degrees out and I love the car but this is a very fucked up thing to have go wrong with so many cars. My boy's 01 Park Ave had the exact same problem. I can hear the fuel pump come on but my car just stalled while going on MD 210 ( The most dangerous highway in the State of Maryland, the same hwy where 8 street racers were killed apprx 2 miles further) and I got cars wizzing past my ass at 90 mph. This pump is coming out first thing Monday morning.

Fuel level is always wrong. Sometimes it shoots to full, then immediately drops to E.
