The needle on my fuel gauge doesn't read correctly. One winter (it was a particularly nasty winter, but) it just stopped working. The gauge will read full, or it will read empty and the "low fuel" indicator will come on. When the car is idling, the needle will fluctuate up and down between those two extremes. Seems like the needle might read somewhere close to the correct level when I'm driving.
Unfortunately, I've never had the chance to get this problem diagnosed and fixed, because this car is nickeling-and-diming me to death. If it's not one thing with it, it's another.
I have been experiencing some shaking and shuddering when idling. I suspect a fuel pump issue. Isn't the fuel gauge reader part of the fuel pump assembly inside the gas tank?...
Not Fixed!!! I would put gas in and the gauge qould not register it.. then it would jump from empty to full.. now it went past full and the needle is pointing downward!!! I think its the gauge itself.. help
Fuel gauge does not work. When car is in park it gives a rough estimate of gas in thee car. When car is in drive, the hand will always go straight to full. IF gas light comes on then the gas hand will go straight to empty.
