A repair shop told my daughter she needs to replace the valve cover gasket and quoted $300 for the repair. She is a student and can't afford that repair. How hard/easy is it to replacement ourselves?
The doors do not open from the inside
I have a '91 Spirit and when I go in the drive it won't go click. I can go in reverse just fine just when trying to go forward it takes everything to try. It feels like it wants to but like it might be stuck? I know I'm not explaining this as well as I could but I'm just not a car person.
Yes i did everything one can think of doing, cleaned pulleys, checked idler bearing, tightened up so tight noise went away and belt blew after 25 miles...lol. I even sandblasted pulleys, wire brushed, sand paper, you name it i have done it. (belt dressing, candle wax, even a master mech.said spray WD 40 on it) WD40 made it quite for a couple of days and thought he was on to some thing. Going to take to dealership and look for the oldest service man their and see what he says to try?
#1 and #2 cynlinders are dead and will not fire from lack of compression or fuel
makes a air spitting noise as you accelarate, getting worse, we think it is the exhaust donut behind the engine, can we replace this ourselves, if so how?
Once the car is started , the rest of the day it starts immediatelly if it has been run for less tahn 8 hours
The car was running fine and just shut off by itself, no sputtering or anything, like one just turned the key off. When tring to restart it, the engine would just turn over. No spark or fuel going to the cylinders.
I have replaced the alternater, belt, rotor and cap, spark plugs and plug wires. Maybe a bad fuel injecter? Not sure what fault code 26 is.
transmission will not shift into high gear. Diagnostic plug in fuse box is not reading.
The Gauge that tells the milage
Hi there-we have been working on daughter's 1991 Dodge spirit-she slowed down for turn, went to accelerate, then no power-car began jerking, so she pulled over. Car would not start up again. Husband said car is getting fuel, but no spark. Replaced some relays, now the problem is that the crankshaft is turning, but the timing belt will not turn. Is this simply because the timing belt broke, or is there something else going on? I appreciate the help, and I hope my question made sense. Thank you so much.
The brights work. When I click back to regular lights, they are not on. Maybe a relay switch on the fuse panel? Fuse? Both headlamps are new.
sINGLE EXPERIOENCE: FRONT LEFT BUMPER HIT POINTED OBJECT WHERE THE BUMPER IS MOUNTED TO THE COMPONENTS THAT ACTIVATED THE AIRBAG. ESTIMATED COST FOR AIRBAG AND HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY $1600.
SUGGESTIONS - LIKE DO IT MYSELF AND HAVE IT INSPECTED BY A CEERTIFIED MECHANIC ON AIRBAG REPAIR?
