The 5.9 has 300k and there is a lot of blow by.

I know break downs are going to happen because mechanical parts often fail. I have had the transmission rebuilt but have had one problem after another with my A/C. My local Napa dealer has an 02 that has electric fans and swore that all the 2006's had the same. After giving him my vin and him doing research he also came to the conclusion that it doesn't have it. I just wanted to know if the fan clutch is for a special order or was it a military option? With all the problems I've been dealing with id love an electric fan. I know my accumulator is bad because I can smell freon in the cab, I can usually put stop leak in it to stop it up but it's now I'm also losing gas at the pressure release valve in the bottom of the air compressor. Last but not least, does the blend door actuator also control the defroster? As I went to turn the defroster on one morning because the windshield was fogged up, I heard a little ping noise. My truck hasn't blown any air through the top of the dash since.

Trans was normal temp to touch truck cranks won't start and my scan tool won't communicate with computer now not sure what to do

2 WEEK AGO WE PLAYED GOLF IN HOT SPRINGS ARK. WE FINISHED PLAYING AND STARTED THE TRUCK AND TURNED ON THE AC. WE BACKED UP AND PULLED FORWARD ABOUT 30 YARDS AND THE AC WASN'T COOLING BUT WAS BLOWING. ALL OF A SUDDEN SMOKE BELLOWED UP THROUGH THE VENTS AT THE WINDSHIELD ON THE DRIVER SIDE. IT WAS WHITE-GRAY. I CUT OF THE ENGINE POPED THE HOOD AND WHEN WE LIFTED THE HOOD THE SMOKE WAS GONE SO WE COULDN'T TELL WHERE IT CAME FROM. PEOPLE THAT SAW IT THOUGHT IT WAS ON FIRE. AFTER LOOKING AROUND UNDER THE HOOD WE GOT BACK IN AND STARTED IT. IT STARTED RIGHT UP THE AC STARTED COOLING AND THERE WERE NO MORE PROBLEMS. ON THE WAY HOME, WE HAD DRIVEN ABOUT 250 MILES AND WE COULD SMELL SOMETHING LIKE ELECTRIC SHORT OR RUBBER LIKE IT DID THE FIRST TIME, IT WAS JUST A FUNNY SMELL.NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE AC WAS WORKING. THE SMELL LASTED ABOUT 2 OR 3 MIN. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK NEW AND HAVE MAINTAINED IT VERY WELL. IT'S A 2006 DODGE DIESEL 5.9 MEGA CAB WITH 123000 MILES.

transmission rough shifting, inside lights flickers dim and bright. engine goes dead and starts again.

The light stayed on 5-10 seconds then went out. The truck has 176K miles, I replaced the engine computer 8 months ago (when an injector fried it), 4 months ago I replaced the ignition key lock because the key was loose, I suspect this may be a problem with the ignition switch proper, but I want to be sure before I R&R it. The truck shows no trouble codes. Would a new ignition switch need to be electronically computer set by the dealer?

I have added steering fluid and it stopped the noise for about 40 miles then started again

The squeal comes in between 55mph and 65mph only during acceleration and goes away when I let off gas. I can not reproduce the sound in neutral or park,does not make the sound at idle. Fan turns fine with a little drag when engine is off. Temp remains normal. I think it's my fan clutch just not sure.
