Problem Description and Possible Solution
The CD player in the radio may fail. Our technicians tell us that the radio will need to be removed and sent out to a radio repair shop to correct this condition.

CD player worked fine for years, all of a sudden yesterday, player quit and the display read 'PLAYER ERROR'. Going to try removing the fuse and resetting it.
As in others in the post, the CD works great then for no reason at all, it quits and the clock resets to 12:00.
You can remove the in cabin fuse (#19 I believe) . It resets the player , it works for a while , then starts to skip and now any CD, brand new or otherwise when inserted keeps getting rejected with the message "CHECK CD" . The same happens when a lens cleaner is inserted. I must say that the CD portion of the unit got very little use while I have had it (like maybe a total of 45 hours over all those years. Getting a fix is not a real serious goal but if there is something that can be done , I would appreciate any help.
wont eject CD. just clicked noise for about 15 to 20 seconds, then it gives up. I pulled the radio out to try and open it myself, dicked around for alomst an hour, still couldn't get the disc out. You need to replace the whole CD player.
I had this same problem a few years after I bought my New 2003 Blazer, it was still under warranty so the dealer replaced the stereo. I don't know what the mileage was at the time. The CD player worked great until last year. Now the CD player won't work at all. I'm really bummed to find out this is a common issue.
