a few weeks ago I experienced a rear brakes total lock up after trudging it home it was flaming hot and extinguished fire with garden hose. I know fundamentals of engines and drive train functions but not ABS friendly yet so after three more brake lock ups and a grip of Christmas present money to by my family gifts spent for parts its waiting for a solution and parts I cant afford and top it off with a water pump replacement with a idler pulley and belts and thermostat housing and censor and 4 hundred more bucks Im in a slump and a few words of advise from different sources some reasonable and some not. Seems like my professionally inclined sources are the least interested with the potential mother load and labor they would make off of me and with that said why not tell me up front its more than they can handle and find a bmw specialist. Truth is its a car with more problems than I have money. I like the car very much so I need to find out the right thing to do. The check engine lights on and at this point the brakes are not locked up. I have not tried to do anything since the last lockup . They must have cooled off and returned the rotor pistons so its drivable but Im afraid to go through it again. Do you recommend an ABS MODULE replacement or rebuild or what else can it be.? I also replaced The master cylinder . no leeks of fluid or no air in lines .I used the proper brake fluids recommended for that specific model and make. Its got 184.xxx mls. on it and runs cool and well all functional. Thanks for reading my little problem and please respond with a report on all posiblities.
They worked then would only work on high then quit completely

It sputters and engine light flickers... Just put in transmission and cam sensor....
Engine code on sheet says 147... Electronic thermostat... The car dies after driving a mile in road like it's not getting any fire or gas.... What could be wrong
After adding tranny fluid to my 97 540i it started making a ticking noise. Anyone have any ideas what it may be.
When the car is cold the tranny doesnt engage properly, its ok once its warm. I had the car towed in July and it has been leaking a little since then but the tranny just started acting weird. Im sure it needs fluid but I cant afford to take it to a mechanic so can I add fluid myself.?
WOULDNT TURN ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL, AND GEAR SHIFTER WERE LOCKED. CHECKED THE IGNITION IT WAS GOOD CHECKED FUSES EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. KINDA OF STUCK ON THIS SCENARIO.? ANY IDEAS?
On a cold start the engine runs rough and has substantial 'tinking'noises coming from near the firewall. As the engine warms up it runs smoother. Any pointers or words of wisdom? The car has previously had overheating problems... now runs with temp needle @ 12 o'clock position. Driven in outback Australia for most of it's life. I suspect a cracked head leaking coolant into 2 cylinders.

I checked the fuse box and it was blown and put another one there and the same thing happened. It worked perfectly fine before the tune up. Please someone HELP ME!!!!! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON. THE PASSENGER SIDE IS FINE. I cannot move the driver's seat at all and it is too close on the steering wheel.
I can't find the heater hoses on first glance. Is that where they are?
