Automatic Transmission May Not Shift Correctly at High Mileages on Toyota Celica

Problem Description and Possible Solution

The automatic transmission may not shift correctly. This can be caused by the throttle position sensor being out of adjustment or a shift solenoid needing to be replaced. Typically the transmission does not need to be completely overhauled.

Doesn't want to go into 4th gear when accelerate it goes into 4th eventually but takes minuet,
no answer as of yet.
Car will start put it in drive or reverse acts like its in neutral will not go at all
Same problem as reported by others. When attempting to accelerate the car will be slow to respond and then downshift hard with rpms surging. Problem is worse with cruise control and cruise calls for acceleration.
My 2005 Toyota Celica has trouble shifting to 4th gear, the rpm goes very high, and then the vevicle slows down.
Transmission will not shift correctly. Sometimes will not shift into reverse, drive, 2, and low. It is as if i am in neutral, the RPM's are moving but the car isn't. I have not fixed this issue as of this report.
The car will do reverse ok, but when put on Drive it will act like in neutral position and will start moving really slowly like something is holding the car, the revs will go up but the car won't accelerate after a few minutes the operation will become normal.
My Toyota won't catch it's gears properly. Reverse is fine but hesitates and when in drive the RPMs only shoot up but don't go nowhere. What can be my problem??
doesnt shift into gear right away after you stop, then slams into gear and jerks forward
Slamming shift on takeoff, then at 7000rpm spuuters, won't shift until you release accelerator slightly. If car is allowed to warm to 1/2 of temp gauge shifting is much better. Erratic shifting.
SLAMMING TRANSMISSION ON TAKEOFF. HARD SHIFTING, GETS A LITTLE BETTER ONCE THE CAR IS WARMED UP 1/2 ON TEMP GAUGE, BUT DEFINATELY STILL SOMETHING WRONG.
Hard shifting and misses gears.
It doesnt want to shift into higher gears untill it gets really high rpms
Won't shift into 4th gear
bad performance takes forever to get into od like 8 to 10 mi
wont go out of third, already replaced throttle position sensor
not repaired yet. was told by a friend his car had the same problem and he said a repair code pointed to the computer behind his glove box. car is slipping at 40-45 mph.

Newly-replaced used engine with low miles.
Car jerks into reverse, doesn't seem to catch gears and revs super hard though not accelerating
I made a stop and as i accelerated the car stopped amd slammed forward. Would not move in d,r, or 2 gear. Made it home in 1st. When in those gears the rpms will move but the car doesn't. I am having the transmission rebuilt. Other than switching gears more slowly or not as smooth the car seemed fine up until yhis happened.
