i have had the same problem, the anti lock brakes seem to be engaging all the time. my mechanic says not to worry about it that it is just the sensors that are failing. he says it doesn't need to be repaired as long as you don't mind living with the anti lock brakes engaging all the time. but i read on line that maybe i should be concerned. what should i be doing.?

truck does not want to stop with light pressure have to push harder which causes brakes to lock up(only at low speed. left bearing of 4x4 has been replaced. when brakes are pushed on a sudden stop brakes tend to lock up. on slippery roads abs seems to work. abs light does not come on. not fixed but suspect the master cylinder.

ABS is falsely triggered at low speeds, making it difficult to come to a stop appropriately.

Breaks want to push you through red lights and stop signs.

  • ABS initiates at slow speeds, even on dry pavement. Extends stopping distance. Mechanic says will need to replace wheel bearings on front at about $500 per side. says it is dangerous that it may cause the auto not to stop at slow speeds. I need to check out the recall from GMC

Had the brakes torn down twice. Dealer said that it was road grime giving false alarm and to take suburban to car wash and wash wheels well with hot water. Have 200,000 miles and has not caused any problems. Washing wheels solves the problem until wheels get dirty again ~
