The boot on my CRV will no longer unlock when I press the remote.

Hi. Thanks for the response. It is the main tailgate that will not open. The Glass hatch still opens via the remote and internal switch.

With the glass closed , when you hit the lock/unlock button on the door (OR remote) do you hear the actuator working in the lower tailgate? Does the KEY work? Turn one way to open glass , other way to unlock tailgate... do you have the owners manual?

Thanks for the reply. I do not hear the actuator working in the lower tailgate when I use the remote. I only have a key slot in the drivers door (not in the tailgate handle) and have also tried this with no success.

I'll check when I go back to work on thursday , but Hondas' website (the one the dealers use) , shows it having a lock cyl. in the tailgate! ....Not that they haven't had wrong info before.....2005 model year , right?

We had a 2005 Honda CR-V in the shop today for service and it had the lock cylinder for the key just to the left of the outside handle that opens the rear gate, i went over and looked at it!! Maybe this one was different, for some funny reason.... . I have no idea about that!.... However it was sorta blue in color... that could be it....

Yes I have the manual but this does not provide any helpful advice. The model is 2005 2.2 CDTI Diesel Exec and definitely no keyhole near the tailgate handle.

THAT answers the question.................NOT a U.S. MODEL!! You'll have to climb inside and try to get it unlatch from there , don't know if yours will have a small plastic square , that can be removed for access. Good luck.
