Motor runs but misses, what would cause it?

Have it scanned for codes. Good quaility 'scanner' will do the job even on a 93 year model. Snap-on modis is what i use and it does a extra fine job even on the antiques and Quad 4's!!
I would like to speak to you to tell you all the work and new parts that I put on already. Even to see if theres anything you know of that I might need to check. It misses like hell sometimes, than other times it doesnt.I cant seem to figure out what the problem is. Would like to hear your input on it.
The way to approach this is to first forget what has already been done, treat it like its never been touched before and test from the beginning. We have plug wires that will go from the coil cover to the plugs that allow us to take the coil cover off of the engine, flip it over and reconnect everything for testing. This helps prove what cylinders are misfiring when the problem is occurring. One of the tests that we do is measure the coil current with a low amps probe and digital oscilloscope, that way we can prove if an ignition problem is with the module or its input, or if its with the coils or their output circuits. Those coil covers have been sources of a lot of trouble on those older quad 4s. With the plug wire trick you get to use a regular spark tester like the ST-125 to confirm is spark is available to a given cylinder or not.
