What is your question?
is it really necessary to replace spark plug wires when changing spark plugs?

We don't use the phrase tune-up anymore. When it is finally time to do the plugs, (approx. 90K) if serviceable you should plan on doing the plug boots what go between the coils and the plugs. Things like cleaning the throttle body, throttle plate can be done at the same time, or on a totally individual basis. the same goes for air filters, fuel filters etc. You asked a question however about is it really necessary to replace the wires when changing the plugs. While not on your car since you don't have "plug wires", (you should change the coil boots if possible) on other cars that do it really is necessary for several reasons. Everything from the insulation drying out over time and not being strong enough to tolerate being removed without stressing, to scratching the new spark plug all can encourage carbon tracking to begin and that makes for a potential path for the spark to leak out and not be forced to fire the gap of the plug in the cylinder which results in a misfire. Misfires kill catalytic convertors, so plugs, and wires where applicable should always be replaced together. IMO.
How many miles on the car? 2011 right?
Hi Pushrod, I use my 2011 car for work travel and have 49000+ miles already. This is my first attempt at tuning this car. Thanks, V/R
Hi back at ya, this is not necessary at that mileage! Around 100k maybe! There are no plug wires.
Thanks Pushrod, my car just doesn't have the power it once had. I'll try changing the air filter and add some fuel injector cleaner to the gas. I appreciate your time. V/R, Joechazz
That is more likely to help. Injector cleaner needs to have "Techron" in it. Check the lable!
no timing adjustment should be necessary but yes it is a good idea to change wires at time of spark plug replacement.
This system uses the coil on plug ignition. Have you ever worked on one?
Look at the rest of his answers. Wow
I see.
WOW is right, A special thanks to all responders. I did change the air filter, added fuel system cleaner with Techron and cleaned the throttle body. The car is running much better today. Again thanks to all, Respectfully Joechazz
