What is your question?
There's a crack in my radiator and it must be replaced. My mechanic says he has to cut the a/c hose to put the radiator in. Is this true?

How does he expect to fix the hose when done. Take it somewhere else, this guy must be a novice!
No, the A/C lines will need to be removed from the condenser, but you should not have to cut the lines.
OK. His term was "CUT" and that freaked me out. However, when I was shopping prices, there was no mention of having to disconnect the hose. My mechanic is charging for that, adding $150 to the price of replacing the radiator. The mechanic is the same price as the dealer and others in town for replacing the radiator, but I would think that the others I shopped with would've told me everything involved!?
The procedure does state that the A/C system needs to be evacuated to remove the lines, replace the radiator and recharged after the radiator is installed. Is the $150 charge for that? That would seem reasonable.
The AC may require being discharged and lines may need to be disconnected, but no line should need to be cut unless the fittings have been damaged and cannot be taken apart as designed.
Asked and answered. Lol
Really? I see no other mention of dealing with seized connections.
Check for a recall. The Hummer H3's radiators are well known for cracking. Mine did and was replaced under warranty. This might have a recall, so check to make sure first.
Thank you! He may be looking at a blonde, but it's a blonde who will hunt him down if he thinks he can pull any BS with me! Knew I should've taken it to the dealer... What if the A/C loses charge/pressure, etc. I just had a new harness put on it...I have over 102000 miles on my H3 Alpha and have only had to change oil and tires!!!
Just make sure he's going to pay for the replacement hose out of his pocket, not his mark up he has figured for the new hose replacement. The Dealer doesn't need to do this, a competent mechanic can do a real good/honest job for you. Try the Find A Shop tab on this web page. Good Luck By the way it will have to be recharged.
Thank you so much for your response and additional information.
