Get a little more specific on CONDITIONS-----Single clunk as clutch released --does it knock at the same cycle as a wheel turning and increase with rotational speed(not engine speed) Only when going straight , or is it worse on turns?
check all mounts for split or cracked rubber inside of mounts.check front upper, pass.side torque strut mount(dogbone)first.
Can you please elaborate (dogbone)? Lower arm ball joint wear out?, ty
front motor mount, sometimes called dogbone mount.torque strut mount.
Gear box mounting wear
Where is gear mount located. Can you please explain. you could be right...
Exhaust pipe hitting underbody....maybe from weak mounts! Lower gears generate highest torque yield & engine reaction... That's just one more 'guess'... Have 'mechanic' test drive..most don't charge anything for that.. Stop ALL the guessing!!!!
Motor mounts can cause noises under braking or acceleration. Call Contra Costa Auto Service and make an appointment to have them look at it Monday.
All motor/engine/ transmission mount lower and upper had been replace. When I drive my honda I still hear the same knocking sound (tok) when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear or accelerating hard. What could have been the problem? Gear box?
Thanks for your kindly response... Yes single clunk (tok) from stop or from slowing down then accelerate (after clutch release) from 1st gear (tok) or 2nd gear and then gone when driving faster.
