WHEN WAS LAST GOOD TUNE UP? DIST. CHECKED FOR BUSHING WEAR(SHAFT PLAY COMMON) NEW DIST. ROTOR,CAP & WIRES. FUEL FILTER CHANGED LATELY? OH YEA, THE FUEL PUMP COULD BE ACTING UP. TBI,UNIT IS GOING TO BE TOUGH TO CHECK PUMP PSI! WITHOUT PROPER TOOLS.
We have a 95 GMC Safari and had this happen several times. Seems the Safari is known for burning up a cap and rotor pretty fast! Change the cap and rotor! My husband keeps a spare and has gotten really fast at it! It's really easy, even I can do it!
fuel pressure as in Fuel lines, or fuel pump!
Do you trust your mechanic? .......Fuel pressure is applied from the PUMP to the fuel lines and ultimatly to the injectors via a fuel rail. Pressure should be constant through entire system , up to the regulator/damper.See service manual for specs applicable to specific model/engine. Mass air flow meter or connections to it may also be an issue.
